Agricultural Technology
The Virginia Tech Agricultural Technology program is a two- year associate’s degree program. Since the program is only two years, first year students are awarded financial aid as freshman and second year students are awarded financial aid as sophomores.
As a result, students should be aware of the Federal Direct Loan limits for these academic levels. The chart below outlines the Federal Direct Loan limits for both independent and dependent Agricultural Technology students.

Other Ways to Pay
As with other students, dependent students have the option of using the Parent PLUS Loan or private Alternative Loans to obtain additional funding for their education. Independent students can borrow additional funds through the Federal Direct Loan program. Dependent and independent students may also qualify for additional federal, state, and institutional aid depending on their financial need according to their FAFSA.
