Grace Period

The grace period is the period of time after the borrower either graduates or falls below half time enrollment.  During this time, the borrower is not required to make payments on their federal loans.  Federal Unsubsidized and Graduate PLUS loans will continue to accrue interest during this time.  Interest will be added to the principal loan balance upon repayment.  The grace period generally begins the day after graduation, withdrawal or dropping below half-time enrollment.
