Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
To be eligible for federal, state, and institutional financial aid, all students are required to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards. The regulations provided by the U.S. Department of Education are geared to encourage student progress toward obtaining a degree. Virginia Tech has established its own policy to adhere to these guidelines.
If a student fails any of the SAP standards, the student’s financial aid eligibility will be suspended, this includes the ability to apply for an alternative/private student loan.
